PARIS, MAY 9, 2017: (DGW) Nigerian man, Chukwuemeka Ibe, aged 35 has been arrested for hard drugs and sentenced to a life in prison by a Cambodian court on Tuesday.

Also arrested is his Romanian accomplice, Adrian-Calin Varadi aged 40 Romanian  who transported the substance identified to be cocaine to him from Brazil.

Mr Chukwuemeka Ibe was to make an onward delivery of 4.96 kg of the drugs to Thailand before he was swooped on the country's anti-drug crack squad in his hotel room.

Both were charged with “illegally transporting the drugs” a crime which carries the death penalty and in rare cases life imprisonment

“The court decides to sentence each of them to life in prison and to fine them 40 million riel (10,000 U.S. dollars) each,” the verdict said.
