PARIS, MAY 16, 2016: (DGW) Thomas Manning, aged 64 from Halifax, Massachusetts, has become the first person in the USA to undergo a penis transplant, New York Times has reported.

He had a part of his penis removed after a debilitating cancer diagnosis early this month in a 15-hour surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Convalescing Manning said he would not go into relationships soon after the surgery.

His words:

“I wouldn’t go near anybody.” “I couldn’t have a relationship with anybody.”

Mr Manning probably becomes the third person in the world to undergo a penis transplant after a Chinese man and South African man in 2006 and 2014 respectively, though the former was unsuccessful , medical records show.
