Zarah, one of President Buhari's daughters
PARIS, JANUARY 21, 2016: (DGW) - Zamfara State Governor, Mr. Abdulazeez Yari has denied reports on the grapevine of his involvement with Zarah, President Buhari's daughter.
There had been media reports before now that the Governor has divorced Hadiza Umaru Shinkafi one of his wives and wooed the President's daughter with a cash gift of $200 million, a news report which the governor said was false and designed to malign him.
Reacting, Gov Yari through his lawyers has written to the publishers of the stories to tender an unreserved apology within seven calendar days, retract the publications in two letters dated January 18 and 19, adding that failure to do so would trigger off a legal action to claim damages up to the tune of N100 billion and N10 billion respectively, DailyGlobeWatch reliably gathered.
Below is part of the letter sent to our Paris newsroom, ''The above publication, no doubt, is false and defamatory, and it is intended to bring the reputation of our client to ridicule and cause odium or malignity to our client.
“Since the above publication, our client has received countless phone calls and text messages from family, friends, colleagues and associates, who incessantly call to enquire about the said publication.
“Consequent upon the above, it is our client’s instruction that we demand from you published retraction of the said defamatory piece in three national newspapers inclusive of your own,” Yari said.
