The peoples' Democratic Party has expressed shock over the death of Prince Audu Abubakar, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives' Congress in last Saturday's election in Kogi State.

Chief Olisa Metuh, PDP National Publicity  Secretary in a statement issued in Abuja said the sudden passing away of Prince Audu Abubakar remains a 'monumental loss' to Nigeria and asked Nigerians to support him and his family with prayers.

Chief Oliseh Metuh said the PDP refrains from any comment it had made on the conduct of the election which remains inconsequential for now calling to mind the sanctity of human life.

Meanwhile the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples' Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus has asked all PDP members across the country to remember the deceased, his family and loved ones in prayers 'as we mourn with them and people of Kogi State over this monumental loss'
