President Francois Hollande of France has accused the  Islamic State group of the attacks in six different locations in Paris last night in a  televised broadcast.

Said President Hollande,  ''this is an act of war committed by a terrorist army'' and added that the wicked act ''against France, against values that we defend everywhere in the world, against what we are: A free country that means something to the whole planet''

Speaking further the president said ''France will triumph over barbarism, will act by all means anywhere, inside or outside the country'' to forestall future attacks.

Meanwhile, a 3-day national mourning has been declared amid the state of emergency across the country. France, he added, will reinstate border checks and controls.  An extraordinary meeting to address the parliament is billed for Monday next week.
