The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man, Kabir Tukur, for allegedly killing his nephew.
Police Public Relation Officer of the state command, Mohammed Haruna, who disclosed this to Newsmen in Bauchi yesterday said the suspect lured his 11 years old nephew into the bush and slaughterd him.
Haruna said “On the 13/10/2015 at about 07:30am, Police detectives attached to Kirfi Division arrested one Kabir Tukur male and 35 years of Beni Town in Kirfi LGA of Bauchi State.Suspect lured one Auwalu Manu,male and 11 years old son of his Junior brother into the bush and slaughtered him.
He said further that the suspect after committing the murder sliced his throat in a bid to commit suicide and became unconscious in the process and was rushed to the hospital.
“The victim and suspect were rushed to ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi and the victim was certified death by a medical doctor while the suspect was admitted for medical attention
Haruna said the scene of the crime was visited by the police and a blood stained hand trowel was recovered as exhibit adding that the Corpse was photographed and released to relatives for burial according to Islamic rites after Autopsy. He said the Case is under investigation.
