The Nigeria Governors Forum is to collaborate with the NNPC in tackling pipeline vandalism in the Country.
The Chairman of the Forum and Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulazeez Yari made this known to newsmen after a meeting with some agencies of government.
The Forum received presentations from the NNPC World Bank and United Nationals Population Fund.
Alhaji Abdulazeez stated that the presentation by NNPC indicated that banking and pipeline vandalism were a threat to the nation's economy which must be addressed with all seriousness.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Governor's Forum also resolved with the NNPC management to sort for technological means in guarding oil pipelines rather than relying solely on the security operatives.
Governor Yeri also said the Forum would liaise with the World Bank to work out modalities for accessing the excess funds with the bank for material development.
Radio Nigeria Correspondent reports that the meeting was well attended by most of the Governors and few Deputies.
