As part of the ongoing military campaign in Nigeria to rid the country of insurgents, the Nigerian Security & Civil Defence Corps has arrested 10 Boko Haram fighters in Adamawa State, the public relations officer of the paramilitary outfit , Mr Abdulahi Musa told our reporter in Yola.
Nine of the insurgents, said Musa, met their waterloo in Fufuore Administrative Area of the state while the other one was swooped on in Mubi Local Government. It would be recalled that a bomb blast occurred in the camp housing Internally Displaced Persons last week at Malkohi in the state capital killing many people which prompted increased surveillance across the camps.
Mr. Musa further told DailyGlobeWatch that his organization decided to carry out a thorough screening of displaced Nigerian returnees from Cameroun in the camp which led to the discovery and apprehension of the insurgents. Further interrogation led to the arrest of one of the insurgents in Mubi administrative division of the state.
