    We’ve all had those restless nights of tossing and turning, staring at the ceiling, unable to get more than a couple hours of shuteye.

    The more you worry about not sleeping, the more your mind races, and next thing you know, the sun is peeking through the window.

    I’ve spent one too many nights this way and needed to put an end to my poor sleeping patterns. I came across this delicious tea recipe and it improved my cycle completely.

    Irregular sleeping patterns or even insomnia can stem from several different things like depression, stress and anxiety.

    Almost every night, I would get into bed and my mind would be racing. Whether I was thinking about work, family, or simply the things I needed to get done the next day, I just couldn’t allow myself to relax. If your mind is active, chances are you won’t fall asleep.

    Certain medications can also cause insomnia.

    Pain medications, antihistamines, and heart and blood pressure medicines are among the many that contribute to sleep loss. Yes, some meds might actually make you drowsy at first, but they can also trigger frequent bathroom trips or anxiety which can further disturb your rest.

    Whether it’s one of these issues or maybe it’s that you’re addicted to your phone when you should be sleeping, something needs to change.

    Going Braless is Good For Your Breasts?

    Some women who go braless may actually have the right idea, and this has been suggested by new research.  According to the results of a 15-year study in France (It should be noted the study does not mention breast size), bras provide no benefits to women and may actually be harmful to breasts over time. Jean-Denis Rouillon, a professor at the University of Franche-Comté in Besançon stated, "Medically, physiologically, anatomically, the breast does not benefit from being deprived of gravity."

    Rouillon measured and examined the breasts of more than 300 women, aged 18 and 35, taking note of how the additional support provided by bras affects the body over time. Overall, he found that women who did not use bras benefited in the long term, developing more muscle tissue to provide natural support. Rouillon also noticed that nipples gained a higher lift, in relation to the shoulders, on women who went braless. The study concluded that when bras are worn, the restrictive material prevents such tissue from growing, which may actually accelerate sagging, .

    But don't throw away your bras just yet, ladies, because despite the findings, Rouillon said it would be dangerous to advise all women to trash their bras based on the study's sample, which may not be representative of the population.     Yet, it can be a huge part of one's personal life and the sources we do get info from are, well, far from scientific.

    Let's tackle it.
    Have no illusions: Kissing is important
    Research shows kissing frequency correlates with relationship satisfaction.

    Overall, the researchers showed that the amount a couple kissed was proportional to their stated level of relationship satisfaction.

    59% of men and 66% of women have ended a relationship because someone was a bad kisser.

    The first kiss is a necessary risk in every budding sexual relationship; a recent psychology study found that 59 percent of men and 66 percent of women reported breaking things off with a prospective partner because of it.

    People remember their first kiss more vividly than the first time they had sex.

    Psychologist John Bohannon from Butler University has found that most of us can recall up to 90 percent of the details of a first romantic kiss. In his study of five hundred people, most remembered this experience more vividly than their first sexual encounter.

    Movies like 'Pretty Woman' have said that prostitutes don't kiss on the mouth because it's too intimate.

    And that's actually true.
    Refraining from mouth-to-mouth kissing has been common among women of the 'oldest profession' for a very long time. Social scientists Joanna Brewis and Stephen Linstead report that prostitutes often won't kiss because it requires a 'genuine desire and love for the other person.' By avoiding the lips of a client, they are best able to keep emotions out of their work.

    Men who kiss their wives before work live 5 years longer, make 20-30% more money and are far less likely to get in a car accident.

    A ten-year psychology study undertaken in Germany during the 1980s found that men who kissed their wives before leaving for work lived, on average, five years longer, earning 20 to 30 percent more than peers who left without a peck good-bye. The researchers also reported that not kissing one's wife before leaving in the morning increased the possibility of a car accident by 50 percent. Psychologists do not believe it's the kiss itself that accounts for the difference but rather that kissers were likely to begin the day with a positive attitude, leading to a healthier lifestyle.

    Why do we kiss?
    Kissing is how we test if someone would (biologically) be a good mate.

    A good deal of the scientific literature speculates that kissing may have evolved to help us choose a suitable partner, or to realize when a match is a bad idea…The exchange of olfactory, tactile, and postural information might trigger unconscious mechanisms that guide us in deciding whether we should continue, and a kiss might even tell us about a potential partner's level of commitment and genetic compatibility.

    Research highlighted in The Science of Kissing: What Our Lips Are Telling Us shows a big gender divide in how kissing is perceived.

    Women were far more likely to see kissing as a good way to assess a potential mate or to initiate, maintain, and monitor a long-term relationship. They also rated the breath and taste of a man's kiss as highly significant in determining whether to keep on kissing him in the moment or the future. Women were far more interested in healthy-looking teeth, and reported valuing the experience of kissing much more than men did— before, during, and after a sexual encounter. Men, on the other hand, were much less picky about kissing and far more interested in facial and bodily attractiveness.

    It's a matter of breaking into your partner's personal space in a plausibly deniable way and gauging their reaction.

    It's important to note that whether or not your intentions are romantic, to kiss another person on the cheek or elsewhere— or to sniff him or her—it's necessary to move into that individual's 'personal space.' To get this close, there must be some level of trust or expectation.Thus delivering a friendly kiss or sniff, or receiving one, amounts to an unspoken gesture of acceptance.

    The best specific method came from pick-up artist David D'Angelo: Guys, adjust a woman's hair.

    It's an intimate enough gesture that a flinch can tell you she's not interested - while a more pleasant response could be a green light. Either way it provides the information necessary without making things too awkward for either party.

    Advice for women
    For The Art of Kissing William Cane asked men what their biggest complaints and desires were regarding kissing.

    Ladies, want to make guys think you're a great kisser? Here are my takeaways from the research:

    Open your mouth more. Research shows men prefer 'wetter kisses with more tongue action.'

    Initiate more.
    Be more aggressive with your tongue and take an active part in the kiss.

    You could probably sum them all up by saying: Stop holding back.

    Advice For men
    Here are my takeaways from the findings in The Art of Kissing:

    Don't jam your tongue down her throat. This was women's most frequent complaint. You're kissing her, not trying to implant an alien embryo in her stomach.

    Keep your ears attuned to her breathing. Bluntly, make sure you're allowing her to breathe. Women tend to enjoy kissing more when they're not being suffocated.

    'Listen' to the way she's kissing. Match her tempo. Reply to her tongue action with similar tongue action. Leading and being aggressive can be good but being oblivious is bad.

    Also, aligning with the research on hygiene, take care of your teeth, use mouthwash and carry mints.

    No matter how attractive someone may be, poor hygiene can kill the moment before it even begins. This is particularly true for men. As preceding chapters have described, women depend heavily on taste and smell and pay close attention to teeth when evaluating a partner.

    A few other tips from an interview with William Cane, author of The Art of Kissing:

    '53% of women prefer (to kiss) a clean-shaven man.'

    'Women's favourites spot to be kissed, other than the mouth, is the neck.Ninety-six percent of women reported that they like neck kisses, while only about 10% of men do.'

    'Women also complain that men don't do enough variations in kissing, that they're too machine-like or repetitive. Women would like a number of different kisses: the neck, the ears, 'liposuction,' which is moving from the upper lip to the lower lip…be creative.'

    And It's not all about technique
    As Sun Tzu said, 'all wars are won or lost before they are ever fought.' By and large, the same is true about kissing.

    You can be a great kisser but behave in a way that makes sure no one ever wants to kiss you. Circumstances can hamper things as well.

    The Science of Kissing: What our lips are telling us addresses a number of these factors:

    Looking good matters, so look good. Yeah, it's obvious but if you're the guy wearing black socks with sandals and a fanny pack, take note. (More on the scientific approach to being sexier here and here.)

    Set the stage. Getting to know one another eases awkwardness and lays the groundwork for a hormonal profile conducive to intimacy. Love researcher Arthur Aron has a list of questions shown to make people bond almost instantly.

    Context matters. If you want it to go well, pick the right time, not some sloppy smothering outside the bar. I've posted before about the things that help in this area; dim lights, wearing red, sharing secrets and a touch of excitement can all be a good lead-in.

    Get to know your partner's likes and dislikes. Kissing isn't an Olympic sport judged by an objective 1-10 score. A big part of it is personal preference. Get to know your partner and you will become a better kisser in their eyes as the relationship progresses. - Time.

    A medium banana (7 to 8 inches long) has 110 calories and provides 30 grammes of carborhydrates, 3 grammes fibre and has 13 percent potassium and 15 percent of each, vitamin C and manganese. As a general rule, half of a medium-sized banana or 1 small banana (4 to 5 inches long) is recommended as a serving. When you eat that portion size, bananas are essentially equivalent to any other piece of fruit in terms of calories and carbs.

    The unripe fruit also contain resistant starch, a type of carb that your body can’t digest so it doesn’t contribute any calories and acts as a prebiotic.

    The Ebola virus may persist in some men's semen for nine months after they were initially infected, far longer than previously known, according to preliminary research out Wednesday.

    The first long-term study of its kind, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, adds to growing evidence that Ebola can linger in the body, causing health problems for months or even years.

    The findings raise new health concerns for the survivors of the Ebola epidemic that has ravaged West Africa since late 2013, killing more than 11,000 people in the deadliest outbreak since the virus was first identified in 1976.

    This is the second consecutive week with no confirmed new cases, global health authorities say.

    "These results come at a critically important time, reminding us that while Ebola case numbers continue to plummet, Ebola survivors and their families continue to struggle with the effects of the disease," said Bruce Aylward, the World Health Organization's special representative on the Ebola response.

    "This study provides further evidence that survivors need continued, substantial support for the next six to 12 months to meet these challenges and to ensure their partners are not exposed to potential virus."

    In March, researchers published a study describing the case of a Liberian woman who appeared to have been infected with Ebola after having sex with a survivor six months after his infection was diagnosed.

    "Before this case, the furthest into convalescence that Ebola virus had been isolated from semen was 82 days," said Armand Sprecher, an Ebola expert with Doctors Without Borders.

    The first known case of sexual transmission of a virus within the Ebola family was documented in 1967 when a woman was infected with Marburg virus through sex with her husband six weeks after he recovered, Sprecher added.

    - Research findings -

    A total of 93 men from Sierra Leone enrolled in the study to examine semen samples for the presence of Ebola virus genetic material.

    All the men were over 18 and joined the study between two and 10 months after they were infected with Ebola.

    All those who were tested in the first three months after their illness showed positive results for Ebola in the semen.

    Four to six months after diagnosis, 65 percent were positive.

    About a quarter (26 percent) of those tested between seven and nine months were positive.

    It remains unclear why some men retained fragments of Ebola virus and others did not.

    Researchers are also unsure whether these trace levels could mean the men were still infectious to partners.

    The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is conducting further tests to determine if the samples contained live, potentially infectious virus.

    - Survivors struggle -

    There are more than 8,000 male survivors of Ebola in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, and experts are urging them to use condoms until their semen has twice tested negative for Ebola.

    People who survive Ebola are considered cured once the virus is no longer detectable in the bloodstream, typically within weeks of infection.

    An outbreak of Ebola in a given location can be declared over 42 days after the resolution of the last case, according to the World Health Organization.

    But many experts now think that a period of increased surveillance and caution should extend 90 days, or even longer.

    The latest study was released just as a British nurse fell critically ill due to a resurgence of the Ebola virus, following her successful treatment in January.

    Daniel Bausch, a World Health Organization (WHO) virologist, told AFP that Ebola can "hang around" in some parts of the body because "it takes longer for your immune system to get into those places and clean the virus out."

    Researchers already know that some of these places include the testicles, the brain and the spinal cord, and possibly in the joint spaces and the chambers around the eye, he said.

    "Over the past few years, there has been mounting evidence of the mental and physical problems in Ebola survivors that can last for years after the virus is cleared from the bloodstream," Ben Neuman, a lecturer in virology at the University of Reading, told the Science Media Centre in London.
